Introduction / History

The Arapaso are part of a network of 17 tribes, some of which live in Colombia as well as Brazil. The Arapaso only live in Brazil.

What Are Their Lives Like?

These 17 tribes cooperate with each other. They fish together and farm, growing manioc. They speak a number of languages related to Tukano proper which has the largest number of speakers. The Arapaso speak this language.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Almost half of the Arapaso people are officially Christian, but they still hold onto many animistic beliefs.

What Are Their Needs?

The Arapaso need to put all their faith in Jesus.
