Chihuahua is a state in northern Mexico that borders Arizona in the United States. The Pima Bajo people straddle this area and live in both countries.
Now that modern roads are linking the Pima Bajo homeland with outsiders, they are becoming acculturated in both Mexico and the US. They are in the process of trying to maintain their culture by collecting their myths and putting them in book form in the Pima Bajo language.
Almost all Pima Bajo consider themselves Christian. The Pima Bajo practice the form of Roman Catholicism taught them by the Jesuits during Spanish colonial days. Pima Bajo tribal leaders organize and supervise their religious festival, Holy Week, and tourists attend.
The Pima Bajo people need their spirituality to center around the person of Jesus Christ, King of kings and Lord of lords.
Pray for Pima Bajo disciples to disciple others in the ways of Christ, leading to a spiritual blessing for their community.
Pray for the Pima Bajo people to find Jesus in the midst of their traditional festivals.
Pray for the Lord to abundantly bless the Pima Bajo people, and that they will respond with gratitude and dedication.
