They can be found in 34 villages in the Kubi District of Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi state. They claim to have an ethnic population of about 30,000.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The people do not celebrate festivals any more. They have a traditional attire named Buje for men and Shim for women. The title of their traditional ruler is known as Au.
The people are primarily farmers. They mainly cultivate guinea corn alongside maize, beans and groundnut.

There are primary and secondary schools in the community. They also have health clinic and market in some of their villages. They use motorbikes and cars as their means of transportation.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Deno are mainly Muslims and they do not have the Scripture in their mother tongue.
Their response to the gospel is very low, and the church growth is stable.

Prayer Points

Pray that one day the Deno will celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Pray Acts 2:17 over the Deno people. 'Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams'.

Pray for a good harvest this year, and that they will also have a hunger for Jesus.
