Hertevin is a dialect of Northeastern Neo-Aramaic. It was originally spoken by Chaldean Catholics in Turkish villages in Siirt Province, near Kurdistan. All remain in Turkey.
There is little information about the Hertevin people, but they probably live like any other rural people group in Turkey.
Hertevin speakers have their own version of Catholicism, though they are in communion with Rome. Their version is culturally Middle Eastern rather than Roman. They agree with Evangelicals regarding the trinity and issues related to God's inspiration of the Bible. But they accept saints as intercessors to God and other practices which Evangelicals would consider to be spiritually damaging.
The Hertevin need to focus on Jesus Christ in their spiritual practices.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to point the Hertevin to Jesus Christ, the only savior.
Pray for Hertevin disciples to make more disciples within their community.
Pray for Christ followers within the Hertevin community to take the savior to the Turks and the Kurds.
