Jaqaru is the name of a tribe and their language. They live in Peru, a country that once had 84 languages, but now only has 47. The smaller languages are being replaced by Spanish.
The Jaqara people are vulnerable. They live is a very remote part of Peru where rebel militias have made life dangerous in the past. Between the violence and the lack of jobs, many Jaqara people are leaving for other places in Peru.
Most of the Jaqara people are Roman Catholic. Some put their faith in the risen Christ while others settle for saints.
The Jaqara need their culture and language protected.
Pray for the Lord to protect the Jaqara people from losing their culture and language.
Pray for the Lord to call and redeem many from the Jaqara people and use them to disciple others.
Pray for a Holy Spirit-led revival that will set their hearts and minds on the living savior.
