The Kemak live in north-central Timor Island.
The Kemak people farm and sell goods at a public market.
The Kemak are Catholics, but they blend in many animistic practices. Their Catholic beliefs are usually a means to obtain spiritual power. They venerate Mary in numerous ceremonies in churches and sacred grottos and they have sacred houses. Their funeral rites include the sacrifice of animals.
The Kemak people need to put Jesus Christ first in their spiritual lives. They have allowed traditional practices and Maryology to take the place of the pure living water Jesus offers.
Pray for Kemak leaders to have dreams and visions of the Risen Christ that will set them on a new spiritual course.
Pray for their Catholic churches and clergymen to put Christ first in their lives.
Pray for the Lord to bless the Kemak people with peace as they learn to obey the ways of the Bible.
