The Koroshi people have their roots in Pakistan's Balochistan Province, which borders Iran, but they have since moved to Iran's southwestern regions. They speak a Koroshi, a Baloch-related language, but on the northern end of where they live they are usually bi-lingual. Some believe that their Koroshi language is dying out.
The Koroshi people of Iran are mostly scattered across Iran's southwestern regions. Some are in Iran's Fars Province. Others live in Pakistan where they probably originated.
Rural Koroshi people are either farmers or engaged in animal husbandry. Many of them herd camels for the Qash 'qai people. Those who live in urban areas are employed either in industry or trade. Some are engaged in traditional crafts like weaving carpets and mats.
The Koroshi people are Muslims like the Persian majority in Iran. They have had no chance to hear any other spiritual solutions.
The Koroshi people need markets for the things they produce. But more than that, they need someone to tell them about Jesus.
Pray for gospel materials like the JESUS Film, radio broadcasts, and gospel recordings to be produced for them.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to direct Iranian believers to go to the Koroshi people.
Pray for a disciple-making movement among this unengaged people group.
