Introduction / History

The Kuteb people originated in Egypt. They migrated to their present location in Cameroon and Nigeria 1,000 years ago.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Kuteb have been engaged in violent conflicts with neighboring tribes in the 21st century. They have fought with the Tiv, the Jukun and the Chamba.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Kuteb people have family idols, but they also worship a supreme being whom they believe brings them rain. Today most are Christian, especially those in Nigeria. Traditional religion has a stronger hold on those who live in Cameroon.

What Are Their Needs?

The Kuteb people need peace in their communities.
