Introduction / History

The Laopang are also known as the Lao Loum. They are one of the Lowland Lao groups.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Like many peoples in rural Lao, the Laopang are famous for being friendly and hospitable. Their villages are close-knit. They make their living through agriculture, fishing and weaving goods for sale. Their handicrafts are a big part of their lives; wood carvings, cloth weaving and basket weaving.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Laopang are Theravada Buddhists, though it is influenced by folk religion. There is a small Christian minority among them that can potentially take the light of Christ to their neighbors and families.

What Are Their Needs?

These people need to put their hope and identity in the King of kings and Lord of lords.

Prayer Points

Pray for loving workers to go to the Laopang people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior.

Pray for families of believers loving and serving others to grow reproducing churches.

Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that results in thousands of new believers who share their faith with others.

Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
