The Nyika are a large group spread across the Zambia-Tanzania border. They originated from the Nyiha [nih] people of Mbozi District, Tanzania, but emigrated south possibly around the beginning of the 20th century. They now speak a language which is different from, albeit related to, the Nyiha of Tanzania.
