The Sos, commonly known as Sawas, are sub-group of the people who a speak a language similar to the Gepma Kundi and may be mistaken for them. Gepma means village and may mean the ground especially in the Duo (Tuo) language.
The Timboli ring covers the villages of Timboli, Nindigum, Mangijangut, Chikinumbu, Kwanranguai and Kararau.
The Sawas or Timboli people are inland Sepik river people who live by making sago flour and fishing. They are gardeners as well.
The Sawas believe in Masalais and Sangumas.
