The Chinanteco are Middle American Indians native to mountainous areas of northwestern Oaxaca and other parts of southern Mexico.
The Chinanteco are agricultural, farming crops such as corn and beans. This farming is done by hand, digging stick or hoe. Hunting, fishing and gathering are also essential activities. Basket weaving and other traditional artisanship are still practiced.
Catholicism, which has been syncretized with cultural spiritual beliefs, is the majority religion.
The Chinanteco need to put Christ first in their lives.
Ask God to protect the Chinanteco from false doctrine.
Pray for faith to come by hearing the word of God, and for the transformation of minds and hearts.
Ask that the Chinanteco would faithfully follow Jesus, make disciples, fellowship in unity, and hold fast to Biblical truth.
Ask the Lord of the harvest to send workers into his field.
Pray there would come a day when the Chinanteco send workers to the unreached in their region.
