The ancestors of the Kuba Yeyi people migrated south to their current homeland in the 1700s. They now live in Botswana and Namibia.
The most important crops for these farmers include sorghum, maize, sweet potato, corn and tobacco.
The Kuba Yeyi believe in a God of creation who once lived among them. He became angry with the human race for their sins, so he returned to heaven. Today this God of creation does not interfere with the ways of the world. Once in a while he displays thunder. They also honor their ancestral spirits.
Though they have a Christian minority, Yeyi spiritual life centers around their traditional beliefs.
The Yeyi need to put all their trust and faith in Jesus Christ so they can enjoy the abundant life he offers.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move the Yeyi people out of their complacency and into lives of faith and joy.
Pray for Yeyi disciples who will make more disciples.
Pray for their crops to prosper this year as a testimony of God’s love and power.
