The Baga Mandouri is an unreached people group located in north-western Guinea.
The Baga Mandouri live along the river delta between the Rio Nunez and the Rio Komponi. Access to their villages is difficult and is best done by boat during rainy season since the main road is impassible part of the year. At least during the rainy season, there are other villages that can only be reached by motorcycle, and then there are still parts where you have to get off and walk through the water that covers the road.
Because of the remoteness and lack of access to their villages, many things that we consider basic necessities are not available to many Baga Mandouri people. Many villages don't have schools, health care, or even clean water. Many sick people sit on mats outside their house and only try to get to the nearest health post when it's often too late.
There is not a single church in their territory and they say that they are all Muslim. However, some villages appear to be more attached to Islam than others. All seem to mix their Islam with their traditional religions, creating folk Islam. In the year 2015, there were no Christian workers or missionaries working among them, either.
Pray for missionaries or members of the national church to go and work among the Baga Mandouri. Pray also that their basic needs would be met.
