Introduction / History

The Gopal are one of the Yadav subgroups. The Gopals in turn have three of their own subgroups. They are dairy farmers who are involved with milking and selling dairy products. Their association with a holy animal gives them higher status than most agricultural peoples. They call themselves "Sons of Krishna," the popular Hindu god associated with cattle.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Though they are not wealthy, the Gopal people usually own their dairy cattle and they have regular customers for their dairy products. They try to have political power.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Like other Yadav people, the Gopals have a special affinity for Krishna, a Hindu god. They look to him for their blessings and protection.

What Are Their Needs?

Like other Yadavs, the Gopal people need to humbly accept the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ, their only way to reconciliation with the true God of Heaven.

Prayer Points

Pray for loving workers to go to the Gopal people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior.

Pray for families of believers loving and serving others to grow reproducing churches.

Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that result in thousands of new disciples who share their faith with others.

Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
