The Jangam Mala are also known as Jangam or Jangama. This low caste community lives in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.
The Jangam Mala have a number of occupations. Along with agriculture they can also be weavers or leather workers. Some serve as priests in temples devoted to Shiva, the Hindu goddess of destruction.
They sometimes face discrimination and poverty, so the Indian government is trying to help them through affirmative action programs, but these efforts are far from complete.
They are historically associated with the Shaiva Hindu tradition and are considered to be devotees of Lord Shiva.
They need the Holy Spirit to open their eyes so they can see Jesus as he is.
Pray for many from this unreached people group to understand both God’s judgment and his majestic glory.
Pray for loving workers to go to the Jangam Mala people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior.
Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that result in thousands of new disciples who share their faith with others.
Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
