The Deaf of Sweden live similarly to any other person within their given culture. Because of their communication limits, they are cut off from meaningful interaction with any who have not learned Swedish Sign Language.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The Swedish are trying to include the Deaf, but because of their special communication needs, it’s difficult. There is the Discrimination Act, but many jobs require hearing. Few employers are able or willing to go the extra mile to learn Swedish Sign Language so they can communicate.
