The Xukuru-Kariri tribe are one of the South American indigenous people groups. Their primary language is Portuguese. Few if any speak their traditional language.
Much like most tribes in this region the people live off the produce of the land. Unfortunately, they are constantly subject to land theft and struggle because of expanding Brazilian farms, etc.
Their main religion is "ethno-religion" which is linked to the ethnic identity of the people group. Anyone who leaves this religion will be ousted from the tribe.
The Xukuru-Kariri people need to be given the chance to hear the life-changing gospel so they can enjoy life to the full.
Pray for loving gospel workers to catch a vision for reaching the Xukuru-Kariri people for Jesus and that in God's sovereign timing the hearts of these people would be open and ready to follow him.
Pray for Jesus movements to bless extended families so the gospel will spread rapidly.
Pray for the spiritual lives of the Xukuru-Kariri people to become fruitful so others will be drawn to Jesus Christ.
