Introduction / History

A small number of South Asians live in Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan is the world's largest landlocked country, and the ninth-largest country in the world. Many people immigrate to Kazakhstan from their home countries.

What Are Their Lives Like?

The languages of South Asians in Kazakhstan is either Hindi and they use Russian a trade language. They are mainly rural people, bringing their occupations and customs from their homeland.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Almost all South Asians in Kazakhstan are Hindu. The Hindu religion is the ancient religion of India. Hinduism is a catch-all phrase for the local religions of South Asia, so it is very diverse. At the popular level, Hindus worship and serve the gods of the Hindu pantheon. They visit Hindu temples and offer prayers, food, flowers, and incense to their gods in hopes of gaining protection and benefits. They do not have a personal or familial relationship with their gods like Christians or Jews. All Bible resources are available in Hindi and Russian; however, they remain an unreached people group.

What Are Their Needs?

The primary need of South Asians in Kazakhstan is to know that Almighty God, creator of all that exists is the one true God who loves them and has provided the way to live eternally with Him.
