Introduction / History

Yeniche is a homeless community in Germany and Austria.

In Germany, many became sedentary in the second half of the 19th century after facing pressure to do so. Through history they have been forced to leave settled communities. Starting in 1933 the Nazis put those who remained vagrant in concentration camps along with the better-known Roma people.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Today there are only a couple thousand Yeniche people in Germany and far less in Austria.

What Are Their Beliefs?

A little over half are labeled Christian, but like most Europeans, secularism affects a high percentage of them.

What Are Their Needs?

The Yeniche need to settle down and find productive work so they can be a blessing to their families and neighbors.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Yeniche people to find and take opportunities to settle down and provide for their families and the community at large.

Pray for Yeniche disciples to make more disciples.

Pray for a spiritual hunger among the Yeniche that will lead them to the cross and the empty grave.
