Wodaabe Fulani in Niger
WOH-dah-bay foo-LAH-nee
The Fulani were first seen as a people group in the Senegambia valley in the eleventh century. They travelled east and south of the Sahara Desert for about the next four hundred years. They have several subgroups, one of which is the Wodaabe people. The Wodaabe people are noted for their art and their unique traditions, such as beauty contests for the men.
Ministry Obstacles
The Wodaabe are noted for their taboos. Those who want to take Christ to them will need to be careful not to violate these if at all possible.

Pray that the few Wodaabe who follow Christ would be filled with the fruit and the power of the Holy Spirit so they can lead others to the cross. Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers who are willing to brave the harsh livestyle of Niger's Wodaabe people. Pray the Wodaabe people would be given a growing hunger to know truth, and that Jesus would reveal himself to them. Pray for Wodaabe people to become disciples of Christ who will make disciples of others.
