According to some records, the Marghi (or Marghi) were in Yemen together with other tribes. At a later stage, due to certain frictions, these tribes were forced to leave Yemen for the Nile Valley or Sudan before coming to Lake Chad. Other historical records indicate that parts of these tribes, especially the Margi, were settled in Kenya, while the majority of Margi migrated together with the other tribes mentioned to the Lake Chad area before reaching other places. The Margi Babal and Margi Udzur'ngu have very similar language with ignorable dialectic differences. Generally, the cultures are similar with differences as a result of the introduction of Christianity. The Marghi people live in Nigeria's provinces of Borno, Adamawa and Gombe. Some live in Cameroon or Chad.
They are hard-working farmers and fishermen. Many prefer to work for the military. This is a people group that values education. The Marghi people value respect, for themselves and for others.
The religion of the Marghi is split between traditional beliefs, Christianity and Islam.
The Marghi people need to submit to Jesus Christ so they can experience the abundant life He offers them in John 10:10.
Pray that the Marghi people will have a spiritual hunger that will open their hearts to the King of kings. Pray for workers who are driven by the love and boldness of the Holy Spirit to go to them. Pray for a Disciple Making Movement among them to begin this decade.
