Most of the Segidi work in agriculture. Some of them own shops. There is a traditional caste council that looks after them and judges their disagreements. Boys are educated more than girls. The Segidi prefer cross-cousin and uncle/niece marriages. Widows, widowers and divorced can marry again. After the death of the father, the property goes to the sons.
When there are no Christians in one’s community, one is not likely to consider ideas coming from outsiders. The Segidi are not being challenged to consider their need for the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.
Pray that Indian believers will regularly intercede for the Segidi and take the blessings of Christ to their communities.
Pray that the Segidi council leaders will begin a movement to Christ in their villages.
