The Bondili are also called Valmiki. They live in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha. They speak Telugu.
Most are farmers, although some are traders or businessmen. Some have been successful in sports, entertainment or politics.
As a people, they are 100 percent Hindu, so they participate in the festivals: Diwali and Holi. However, they also have their own festivals not celebrated by other Hindu communities. One of them, Valmiki Jayanti, celebrates the birth of Valmiki. They consider themselves descendants of Valmiki, a sage who wrote the Hindu epic poem, the Ramayana.
The Bondili people need to be given the chance to hear the life-changing gospel so they can enjoy life to the full.
Pray for loving gospel workers to catch a vision for reaching the Bondili people for Jesus and that in God's sovereign timing the hearts of these people would be open and ready to follow him.
Pray for Jesus movements to bless extended families so the gospel will spread rapidly.
Pray for the spiritual lives of the Bondili people to become fruitful so others will be drawn to Jesus Christ.
