In the past, the Daroga used to serve Rajput rulers and chiefs as domestic servants. They are widely distributed in Rajasthan. They hide their identity and claim that they themselves are Rajput.
At present, they are variously engaged in cultivation, business or government service. There are teachers, businessmen, defense personnel, and white-collar employees in the community. The Daroga send their children to school and college hoping that the next generation will do better than they did.
In addition to their ancestral gods, the Daroga worship Hindu gods such as Radha Krishna, Ska Ram, Hanuman, Bheruji, Mansa, Jagdamba, Kalka and Chandika (Chamunda).
The Daroga people need to put themselves at the feet of the One True God who can take care of all their spiritual and physical needs and bless their children abundantly.
Pray that the Father will nudge a believing community to adopt the Daroga for prayer and outreach. Pray that He will call evangelists, pastors and teachers from within their community who will present Jesus in a meaningful way and start a Disciple Making Movement. May they find dignity in their identity when they become part of the family of God.
