The Pattegar live in Karnataka and migrated from Gujarat. They speak Khatri and Kannada and read and write in Kannada. They are not vegetarians and eat wheat and rice as cereals.
The Pattegar are monogamous, and they prefer marriages between cousins. They do not allow for divorce. They cremate their dead. On the death of the father, sons inherit the property with the oldest son taking charge of the family estate.
The Pategar work in business, industry and in private or government service. They have a regional association to encourage them. Boys and girls are both given the chance for an education.
Hinduism is their religion.
The Pattegar people need a John 10:10 blessing: The abundant life Jesus offers those who are willing to submit to his lordship.
Pray for Pattegar culture to be renewed and enhanced by a work of the Holy Spirit and shaped into a God-centered and God-honoring mold.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to move among their family and community leaders to seek his face and enjoy his blessings.
Pray for the Lord to thrust out workers who will be compelled to nurture a Disciple Making Movement among the Pattegar people.
Pray that soon the Pattegar people will have faith that will lead them to live honorable lives that will draw others to the savior.
