Seki is the name of a language and the people who speak it. A small number live in Gabon; most of them live further north in neighboring Equatorial Guinea. At one time they have much influence as traders. With the Portuguese they traded slaves, ivory, redwood, and ebony. They were key middlemen in the African slave trade.
Today most Seki speakers are farmers or craftsmen. Others work in cities such as Libreville and Lambaréné.
They have their own dance styles which others come to watch.
Most Sekis are marginal Christians. There are Roman Catholic churches among them, but the Sekis blend Christianity with traditional beliefs.
The Sekis need a pure faith, devoted to Jesus Christ and his kingdom.
Pray for a powerful work of the Holy Spirit to move in every Seki family and church.
Pray for the Lord to give them a record high harvest as a testimony of God’s goodness and power.
Pray that soon Seki Christians will disciple others, especially those without a gospel witness.
