The Barela are a part of the Bhil group. They have two subdivisions. The Barela Bhil are a scheduled tribe who live in the state of Madhya Pradesh in Khargone and other places of that state. They speak Rathi among themselves.
The Barela work mainly in agriculture and laboring. Their children work.
The Barela are not vegetarians, but they do not eat beef or pork. They eat unleavened bread.
Hinduism is their religion. Ghinshri is their clan deity.
Like all other peoples of the world, this people group needs the blessings and guidance that only Jesus Christ can offer.
Pray that Indian Christians will lead the Barela to Jesus Christ.
Pray that gospel materials will lead them to salvation.
Pray for open hearts to the ways of the only savior.
