The Borari are a subgroup of the larger Munduruku cluster of language and cultural groups. They live in Brazil’s state of Para in the lower Amazon Basin.
The Borari are known for their body painting and their use of dyes and natural fibers to make clothes and crafts.
They have always been hunters and food gathers. They know how to find wild fruits, nuts and game in their forested homeland. Fishing is also important for their survival.
The Borari people believe that the land and the spirit world are closely related. To them, these spirits are essential to their survival.
Much of their efforts today are devoted to protecting their homeland from outsiders who want to use their land for farming, logging and mining. The Borari are trying to preserve their cultural art forms such as music and dance.
Pray for workers to go to the Borari people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their Savior.
Pray for families of believers loving and serving others to grow reproducing churches.
Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that results in thousands of new believers who share their faith with others.
Pray for grace and truth expanding into their entire society as all believers learn to love others.
