The Carabayo people live in the region of Rio Puré National Park which they share with two other tribes. It is located in the southeast of Colombia in the Colombian Amazon rainforest near Brazil. The Park is protected.
The Carabayo live in long houses. They are also called Aroje and speak the Carabayo language. Macusa is a term that is connected to local languages. Carabayo is a mocking name that was given to them.
Contact with those searching for rubber has caused violent confrontations in the past for the Carabayo and has caused them to go away from other local groups and be isolated. The Government recently has allowed them to be isolated and to keep their traditional lands also.
Pray that missionaries who are Christians will bring the Carabayo to Jesus Christ.
Pray that the troubles they have had will make them receptive to the gospel and lead them to salvation too.
