The Ad Dharmi people have low status among Hindu communities.
The Ad Dharmi's primary occupation is tanning hides, and some are also engaged in leatherwork and related industries. There are no restrictions on their accepting or exchanging water and food from and with the neighboring communities. They visit the same religious places, share common sources of water and also take part in festivals along with other communities. Their literacy rate probably has risen in recent years to exceed the 50% mark.
The Ad Dharmi people practice Hinduism, the ancient religion of India. Hinduism is a catch-all phrase for the local religions of South Asia, so it is very diverse. At the popular level, Hindus worship and serve the gods of the Hindu pantheon. They visit Hindu temples and offer prayers, food, flowers, and incense to their gods in hopes of gaining protection and benefits. They do not have a personal or familial relationship with their gods like Christians or Jews. There are other Hindus who are much more philosophical, especially among the Brahmins.
Almost all Hindus participate in yearly celebrations like Holi, the festival of colors and the start of spring / Diwali, the festival of lights / Navratri, the celebration of autumn / and Rama Navami, Rama's birthday.
Like all other peoples of the world, this people group needs the blessings and guidance that only Jesus Christ can offer.
Pray for movements to Jesus to sweep through Ad Dharmi families, permeating the group from within.
There may be no followers of Jesus among the Ad Dharmi community at present but pray for those the Lord will soon lead to himself. Pray they will understand fully the way of salvation and be zealous to know and follow the Lord. Pray for the Ad Dharmi community to be able to care adequately for their families and be able to send their children to school.
