The ancestors of the Nagaibak people were nomads. Their job was to protect the borders of the Russian Empire from outsiders. Their culture and language was being weakened during the days of the USSR, but there were efforts to revitalize it after the Soviet Union collapse in 1991.
They speak a Tatar dialect. Unlike most Tatars, they are not Muslim.
Today the Nagaibak people live in villages. Some of their villages invite tourists, and they have four cultural museums. There are at least 12 folk groups that demonstrate their music, dance and culture.
Most of the Nagaibak are Russian Orthodox Christians.
They need the chance to branch out into better ways to make a living. Ideally, they will get advanced education so they can become medical professionals and businessmen.
Pray for the Lord to guide and protect the Nagaibak people of Russia.
Pray for Nagaibak people who love the Lord to disciple others in his ways.
Pray for a spiritual hunger that will lead this people group to put their faith in Jesus Christ.
Pray for them to not get distracted by rituals and traditions, but to center their lives on Christ.
